Running a business can be overwhelming. It doesn’t matter whether your firm is big or small, there’s always something to do and worry about. For many attorneys and business owners, work concerns often take precedence over other matters. Often, even important things like health and family are the first to take a back seat. And it’s become even more hectic when the pandemic struck.
However, life is more than work and business. Finding a healthy balance is vital to you and your firm’s success.
In this episode, Joe Bravo joins us to talk about the importance of health and how to prioritize our time to balance all aspects of life. He also shares practical tips on and tools for effective time management.
If you are struggling with time management and want to foster better work-life balance, then this episode is for you.
Joe: “I had no idea I could be this comfortable working fully productive while being at my own home, which is something that I never used to do [since] I used to travel a lot. Now I’m able to live my life the way that I want to do it while remaining productive with people that I admire.”
Joe: “It is prioritizing a few things. First, I needed to figure out what was something I wanted to do in order to feel better. And eventually, I found out that going to the gym wasn’t it… So my biggest advice would be to find something that you really like.”
Joe: “Find something that you want for yourself that will complement your life and everything else will just fall into place.”
Joe: “Sometimes, there are different stresses in life. When life throws a curveball at you, how can you handle all that? … I would say choose your battles.”
Joe: “Keep it simple, have everything you need at hand, and then just prioritize and execute. I prioritize my work. I prioritize my deliveries, my relationship, my family, and my health. So I’m able to do all of this, but not for three or four hours a day.”
Moshe: “Less is more, and even a little bit is worth something. I struggle with this personally, like if I’m not going to have an hour to ride a bike, I’m not getting on the bike. But the reality is, 20 minutes is better than nothing.”
Joe: “Empower your people to do it and have an amazing company, and they’ll want to do it as well.”
Joe: “Delegate your way to freedom. What that means is to always continue to scale your operation up. All of those things that you no longer need to do yourself, then have capable hands where you can delegate that to. If not, then you’re going to be doing everything by yourself. You’re gonna stay [in] the same place for a very long time.”
